Mike, Jed, and Chris ordered the sliced turkey breast with side orders and soda. I got the chicken pot pie. They got the baked beans, but I got the tortellini salad and stuffing covered with hot gravy. The smell of beans hit me like wet steam when I reached the table. The beans and bean juice were red. We talked and we ate this food so hard we started to sweat. We talked about the rock stars we hate. Jed had to watch his language because there were children in Boston Rotisserie Chicken.
Outside was an old couple walking a brown and white dog. The dog jaggers as it smells other dogs' urine. It's really old. They expected it to die last winter. They watch it walk proudly. The dog ignores them, sniffing dry papers on the ground. Its thick pawskin grabs the pavement at each step. It's hot out. The old couple is so proud of their dog outside of Boston Rotisserie Chicken.
Mike and Jed and Chris and I fall back from the table, and we walk out. The best feeling after your stomach is stretched like a full wineskin is putting your hand under your shirt and rubbing your full stomach.
